Welcome to the website of Cub Scout Pack 112 chartered by Kehoe-France Northshore School in Covington, Louisiana, with members from Covington Elementary School and Pine View Middle School.
We are a member of the Bogue Tuchenna District, Istrouma Area Council, of the Boy Scouts of America.

We are accepting new members for the 2007-2008 school year, and our dens already are planning campouts, educational trips, the annual Pinewood Derby and even a night at the U.S.S. Kidd in Baton Rouge.

Join Cub Scouts!  Attend Cub Scout Pack 112's Season Opener

Sunday, September 9, at 3 p.m. at the Kehoe-France Northshore Cafeteria.

For returning Scouts, this is our September pack meeting.

Cub Scouting is for boys who are in the first through fifth grades and for parents who wish to work with their sons at a time when their influence remains important and when their sons are still open to receiving it.  Monthly pack meetings are held at Kehoe-France Northshore School, with smaller den meetings organized around activities and the families who participate in each of the grade-level dens -- Tigers (First), Wolves (Second), Bears (Third) and Webelos (Fourth and Fifth).  All the boys in our pack are involved in many other activities, but none combines character, leadership and citizenship training with the learning opportunities and appreciation of nature offered by Scouting.  You may participate at the level your schedule allows, but you always will find your participation rewarding.  On the average, boys in Cub Scouting do better in school than those boys who are not involved in Cub Scouting.

THE TEN PURPOSES OF SCOUTING ARE:
  1. Character Development
  2. Spiritual Growth
  3. Good Citizenship
  4. Sportsmanship and Fitness
  5. Family Understanding
  6. Respectful Relationships
  7. Personal Achievement
  8. Friendly Service
  9. Fun and Adventure
  10. Preparation for Boy Scouts
You can make a difference in the lives of your son and his friends.  E-mail us at jazzdoc@fastband.com for an application or attend our next pack meeting.

"There is something in us as human beings that needs to see natural horizons.  When we don't get that, we don't do well.  Today's younger generation is the first in history that isn't spending big chunks of time outdoors.  We are only beginning to see the negative impact.  Nature engages all the senses in a way that few other experiences can."  -- Richard Louv, "Last Child in the Woods," Saving Our Children, Scouting Magazine, May/June 2006.
